At the extreme tip of the Gulf of Tadjoura, the Goubet Al-Kharab is a beautiful and disturbing cove dominated by Devil's Island, an impressive dome that has sprung in the middle of the bay during tectonic movements related to the formation of the Rift Assal. Accessible by road or by boat dominates the Goubet has always suffered from an evil reputation, so much so that no fisherman Djibouti there might still his boat!

Under the dome sleep indeed the abyss of demons, monstrous sea creatures lair which, like sirens, would derive by the bold bottom dared to venture. The site, it is true, has something hit imagination, surrounded by arid mountains that descend directly into the water.
