Overview

Ethiopia is land of diversity! And this tour package ensures the multitude tribes lives in a very small area, and the scenic landscapes, the rich fauna and flora also makes an amazing combination with the people reside in the remote areas of Ethiopia specially in Omo Valley. This tour Package is also a well designed for a week tour in Ethiopia, also can be extended for more days. Harar or Lalibela can be added as an extension packages.

Day 01 Arrive in Addis Ababa: - City tour of Addis Ababa

Day 2. Addis Ababa – Arbaminch 410Km: Drive to Arbaminch visit different villages.

Day 3. Arbaminch-Jinka: Boat Trip on Lake Chamo

Day 04: Jinka – Mursi – Turmi : Visit Mursi people Village

Day 05: Tumi – Karo – Turmi : Visit Karo People Village

Day 06: Turmi- Omorate – Konso: Visit Dassenech and Erbore People

Day 07: Konso – Arbaminch – Addis/Flight/: Visit Konso village and Transfer to Arbaminch Airport and departure to home country.

 

Itinerary

Day 01 Arrive in Addis Ababa

Arrive in Addis and start city tour of the capital founded by the wife of Emperor Menelik in the end of the 19th Century. Very attractive are the two famous museums the National museum which hosts Lucy, hominid fossil dating back to 3.5 million years ago which belongs to the Australopithecus Afarensis family. The market of Addis which is noted to be the largest open air market in East Africa holds together different retail and wholesale sectors. Particularly interesting are the recycling sector and the spice market. Overnight in Hotel

Day 2. Addis Ababa – Arbaminch 410Km

Drive through different Ethnic Groups like, the Gamo, Wolayta, Hadiya, Gurage and Oromo people. On the way visit Tiya stele field registered as a world heritage site by UNESCO. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 3. Arbaminch-Jinka 240km Early morning boat a boat trip on Lake Chamo and admire the birds, Crcodiles and Hippos lives in and around the lake. Afterwards drive through the Konso highlands and Weyto lowlands with diverse tribes. Arrive in Jinka and accommodation Hotel .

Day 4. Jinka-Mursi-Turmi 280km: here starts the real and top highlight part of the tour where you shall explore different people living in their natural state where time and space seems not to exist. Morning drive to the Mursi people, one of the most interesting, from anthropological point of view, in Africa. They belong to The Nilo-Saharian language group and they speak a language similar to that of Surma and Me’en people. Among their vast and strange cultures is found also the “Lip Plate” which they practice by cutting their lower lip to insert a clay disc. The men have scarifications on their shoulders and arms. After noon drive to Turmi. Overnight in Lodge.

Day 5. Turmi - Karo -Turmi 120km Morning excursion to small village called Dus the home of Karo people. These people live at the Shore of Omo Rive, and famous for their body scarifications, paintings and adornments. Drive back to Turmi and Late Afternoon proceed to Hammer people Village, one of the largest tribes of Omo. Overnight in Lodge

Day 6. Turmi-Konso 130km Early morning drive to Omorate and cross Omo river by small boat to visit the Dassenech people. After wards drive to Konso on the way visit the Erbore People, and proceeds to Konso. Overnigh in Lodge.

Day 7.Konso - Arbaminch – Addis Ababa /Flight/: Early morning Visit the UNSECO world heritage villages of Konso People. The Konso people are much known to be hardworking and famous of terrace agriculture by which they exploit every meter of the mountainous terrain to grow coffee, bean, sorghum, cotton, maize and others. They are as well-known weavers. Afterwards transfer to Arbaminch for an afternoon flight to Addis. Complementary Traditional dinner will be served at traditional restaurant In Addis with folklore dance. And finally transfer to Airport.
